A good Navratri offer message is a short, Meta-approved WhatsApp Marketing template that wishes "Shubh Navratri", states one clear offer with its last date and ends with an opt-out line, sent only to customers who opted in. A ready example: "Shubh Navratri, {{1}}! Wear today's colour to our store and get {{2}} off your festive outfit until 19 October. Reply STOP to opt out."
Sharad Navratri 2026 runs around 11 to 19 October, with Dussehra (Vijayadashami) on 20 October. Today is 6 October, so the most useful thing you can do this week is submit your templates for approval. Below are 20 ready-to-copy Navratri and Dussehra templates across eight industries, plus a nine-day send plan, Meta's category rules and real per-message costs.
Navratri and Dussehra 2026 dates, and why WhatsApp fits
Sharad Navratri 2026 is expected to begin on about Sunday, 11 October and end on about Monday, 19 October, followed by Dussehra on Tuesday, 20 October. Tithi timings shift by city and tradition, so confirm the exact dates with your local panchang before you print offer deadlines.
Navratri is unusual because it lasts nine nights. Customers do not shop once; they come back. They buy a chaniya choli for the first garba night, a dupatta in the colour of the day, fasting snacks through the week, gold on an auspicious day and, often, book a vehicle for delivery on Dussehra. That repeat pattern suits WhatsApp better than a one-off SMS blast, because one conversation can carry a customer from the first offer to the final delivery.
A Navratri WhatsApp campaign is a planned sequence of approved templates and chat replies that runs from a pre-festival teaser to a Dussehra follow-up. Treat it as one chapter of your WhatsApp marketing calendar for India 2026: Navratri opens the festive quarter, and Dhanteras and Diwali follow about three weeks later.
The nine colours of Navratri: a nine-day daily drop campaign
Each day of Navratri honours a form of Goddess Durga, and many regions follow a published colour for each day. Customers check the colour, dress in it and share photos. A "colour of the day" drop gives you a fresh reason to message every morning without inventing a new discount each time.
The colour list is published each year and varies by region, so take the 2026 colours from the list your customers follow and pass them in as a template variable. Hard-code the colours into approved text and you will need nine separate approvals.
| Day | Approx. date (2026) | Goddess form | Campaign idea |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Sun 11 Oct | Shailputri | Launch offer and colour-alert opt-in |
| Day 2 | Mon 12 Oct | Brahmacharini | Colour drop, fasting menu or vrat snacks |
| Day 3 | Tue 13 Oct | Chandraghanta | Colour drop, jewellery and accessories |
| Day 4 | Wed 14 Oct | Kushmanda | Colour drop, salon and mehendi slots |
| Day 5 | Thu 15 Oct | Skandamata | Mid-festival offer, weekend garba passes |
| Day 6 | Fri 16 Oct | Katyayani | Colour drop, weekend look-book |
| Day 7 | Sat 17 Oct | Kalaratri | Weekend garba night, event reminders |
| Day 8 | Sun 18 Oct | Mahagauri | Ashtami: kanya pujan gifts and sweets |
| Day 9 | Mon 19 Oct | Siddhidatri | Navami: last-day offer, Dussehra pre-booking |
Do not send nine paid Marketing templates to your whole list. Send one opt-in invitation and let interested customers ask for the daily colour. When a customer taps a quick-reply button, they message you, and that opens a 24-hour customer service window. The next morning's colour drop can then go as a normal chat reply, as long as the tap came within the previous 24 hours. Since 1 October 2026, these service replies cost about ₹0.115 each after a reported 1,000 free per number per month, far below the price of a Marketing template.
Colour drops land best between 8 AM and 10 AM, when customers decide what to wear. Send event, salon and restaurant reminders between 4 PM and 6 PM, and avoid sending after 9 PM, when your customers are at the garba ground.

Marketing or Utility? Category rules and approval tips
Meta sorts every WhatsApp template into a category, and the category decides both price and rules. Any Navratri offer, colour drop, event promotion or greeting is a Marketing template; even a pure "Shubh Navratri" wish is usually Marketing, because Meta treats greetings as promotional. Utility templates are only for a transaction the customer already started. Our guide to WhatsApp message template categories covers borderline cases.
| Message type | Use it for | Navratri example | Approx. Meta rate in India |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing template | Offers, greetings, event promotions | Colour drop, garba pass launch | About ₹0.86 per message |
| Utility template | Updates on a transaction the customer started | Pass confirmation, delivery slot | About ₹0.115 per message |
| Service reply | Free-form replies inside the 24-hour window | Next day's colour after a button tap | About ₹0.115 after a reported 1,000 free per number per month |
Meta usually reviews templates within minutes, but review can take up to 24 hours, and a rejection means editing and resubmitting. With Navratri starting around 11 October, submit everything by 8 October. These habits cut rejections:
- Write in sentence case. ALL CAPS reads as spam to reviewers and customers alike.
- State the exact offer. "Flat 20% off making charges" is fine; "guaranteed lowest price" is a misleading claim.
- Place variables inside sentences. Never start or end the body with a variable, and keep fixed text longer than the placeholders.
- Add an opt-out. End Marketing templates with "Reply STOP to opt out" and add Meta's "Stop promotions" button where available.
- Never mislabel a promotion as Utility. An offer line can get a Utility template reclassified anyway.
- Keep a backup version of each key template, so one rejection does not stall your launch.
Consent is not optional. WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy requires customers to opt in before you send promotional messages, and a bought list does not count. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 also expects consent that is clear and easy to withdraw. Record how each person opted in and honour every STOP reply at once. This is general information, not legal advice.
What a Navratri WhatsApp campaign costs
RichAutomate has two billing modes. On SaaS Pay you pay one all-inclusive rate of ₹1.50 per Marketing message and ₹0.50 per Utility message, with no separate Meta bill. On Client Pay you pay Meta's rate directly and RichAutomate adds ₹0.10 per message, so a Marketing message costs roughly ₹0.96 and a Utility message roughly ₹0.215 in total.
| Messages sent | SaaS Pay (all-inclusive) | Client Pay (approx. Meta rate + ₹0.10) |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 Marketing | ₹7,500 | About ₹4,800 |
| 20,000 Marketing | ₹30,000 | About ₹19,200 |
| 5,000 Utility | ₹2,500 | About ₹1,075 |
| 20,000 Utility | ₹10,000 | About ₹4,300 |
Example: a saree store with 5,000 opted-in customers sends a launch template on Day 1 and a Dussehra offer on Day 10. That is 10,000 Marketing messages, or ₹15,000 on SaaS Pay. Customers who join the colour alerts and keep tapping get their daily drops as service replies instead of ₹1.50 templates, which is what keeps a nine-day campaign affordable.
Setup costs ₹0, and pay-as-you-go costs ₹0 per month. Paid plans are Starter at ₹499, Pro at ₹899 and White-label at ₹1,199 per month; compare them on the RichAutomate pricing page. A GST number is required to take a WhatsApp Business Account live, so arrange it before festival week. To test your templates first, start a free trial: every account gets 14 days and 100 credits.
Navratri WhatsApp mistakes to avoid
- Nine Marketing templates to everyone. Send one invitation, then let engaged customers pull the daily colour.
- Blasting the full database. Segment first: last year's festive buyers, recent enquiries and event-goers. A small relevant list usually beats a big cold one.
- Retrying failed sends in a loop. Meta caps how many Marketing templates one person receives from all businesses combined, and capped messages fail with error 131049. Space out retries and read our note on Meta marketing template pacing. No provider can guarantee delivery of every Marketing message.
- Ignoring replies. A customer asking "size M available?" at 7 PM is ready to buy. Answer inside the window, ideally within minutes.
- Forgetting the Dussehra handover. Customers who book during Navratri expect a Utility confirmation with the delivery time.
Your Navratri and Dussehra WhatsApp checklist
- Confirm the opt-in status of every contact today.
- Write your invitation, industry, Dussehra and Utility templates, and submit them by 8 October.
- Collect the 2026 colour list your customers follow and confirm dates with your local panchang.
- Send the colour-alert invitation on 11 October between 8 AM and 10 AM.
- Reply to every tap inside the 24-hour window and send daily colour drops as chat replies.
- Send the Navami offer on 19 October and the Dussehra offer on the morning of 20 October.
- Send Utility confirmations for every booking, then start planning the Dhanteras wave.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Navratri offer message for customers?
A good Navratri offer message is a short, approved WhatsApp Marketing template that wishes Shubh Navratri, states one clear offer with its last date and ends with Reply STOP to opt out. For example: Shubh Navratri! Wear today's colour to our store and get a festive discount until 19 October. Send it only to customers who opted in to hear from you.
When should I send Navratri and Dussehra WhatsApp offers in 2026?
Sharad Navratri 2026 runs around 11 to 19 October, and Dussehra falls on 20 October; confirm with your local panchang. Submit templates by 8 October, since Meta review can take up to 24 hours. Send the launch offer on Day 1 between 8 AM and 10 AM, the last-day offer on 19 October and the Dussehra offer on 20 October.
Are Navratri greetings Marketing or Utility templates?
Navratri offers, colour drops, garba pass promotions and discounts are Marketing templates. Even a pure Shubh Navratri greeting is usually Marketing, because Meta treats greetings as promotional. Utility templates are only for a transaction the customer started, such as a pass confirmation or delivery slot. An offer line can get a Utility template reclassified as Marketing.
How much does a Navratri WhatsApp campaign cost in India?
On RichAutomate SaaS Pay, Marketing messages cost ₹1.50 each and Utility messages ₹0.50 each, all-inclusive, so 5,000 Marketing messages cost ₹7,500. On Client Pay you pay Meta's rate, about ₹0.86 per Marketing message, plus ₹0.10 per message. Service replies inside the 24-hour window cost about ₹0.115 each after a reported 1,000 free per number per month. Setup is ₹0.
Can I send Navratri offers to customers who have not opted in?
No. WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy requires customers to opt in before a business sends them promotional messages, and bought contact lists do not count. India's DPDP Act, 2023 also expects clear, informed consent that is easy to withdraw. Send Navratri and Dussehra offers only to opted-in customers, record how each person opted in and honour every STOP reply immediately.
