What is a BSP? (India 2026)
A BSP (Business Solution Provider) is a Meta-authorised partner that resells WhatsApp Business Platform access, hosts the API connection on top of Meta Cloud API, and adds value such as INR billing, GST invoices, embedded signup and migration support. Indian businesses typically use a BSP rather than connecting to Cloud API directly.
A BSP sits between your business and Meta. Meta runs the messaging infrastructure (Cloud API or On-Premise API) and the BSP wraps it with workflow tools — a shared inbox, campaign builder, template manager, wallet, webhook orchestration, and migration tooling. For most Indian SMBs the BSP is the actual product they interact with day to day.
BSPs differ on three axes that matter most in 2026: how transparently they pass through Meta's conversation pricing in INR, how robust their webhook reconciliation is for billing audits, and how painlessly you can move your WABA off them. A competitive Indian BSP charges a fixed monthly platform fee plus pass-through Meta conversation cost — not an opaque per-message markup.
Always confirm that you own the Meta Business Manager and the WABA itself before signing with a BSP. If the BSP creates the WABA inside their Business Manager, you become structurally locked in: switching providers means rebuilding templates, re-onboarding your phone number, and losing approved display name history. Ownership of the WABA is non-negotiable for Indian businesses with growth ambitions.
